In 2006, Overland Adventure Outfitters' owner, Wade, purchased his first adventure vehicle, a Rubicon edition Jeep LJ. The vehicle became a base for exploration in his native Colorado and beyond.
In 2008, a roof-top tent was added. Soon to follow were an awning, dual battery system and storage system. As Wade, his wife, and their two canine companions continued their explorations throughout the western US, they couldn't help but notice the attention their unique set-up would capture. The couple found that almost everyone who took the time to come up and talk would end up asking the same question, “Where do I get equipment like this?”
The “Rubi” 2008
In 2010, Wade and his wife were presented with an opportunity to move to beautiful spacious Montana. Finally, the couple could get out of the metropolitan rat-race. The opportunity was seized and a new beginning was underway. They continued to be approached by curious onlookers wondering where they could get equipment that would turn their vehicles into a self-sufficient travel base like the “Rubi”.
And so the idea of Overland Adventure Outfitters was born. The company would be a source for high quality overlanding and expedition gear with an emphasis on customer service and shared knowledge from past explorations. It would provide easy access to a wide selection of overlanding products.
